Of the ease of his government and of peace
there will be no end,
on the throne of David and over his kingdom,
to establish it and to uphold it
with justice and with righteousness
from this time forth and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
Isaiah 9:7
Today was one of those days. You know the kind that exhausts you down to your bone. Where once you have sat yourself down on your chair, you know you won’t be able to get up again.
I called Trader Joe’s to see if they had their Gingerbread House Kit. They have the best ones because of the price point and the actual quality of the gingerbread is good, but they run out as soon as they hit the shelves. I managed to secure the last two and Trader Joe’s was willing to hold them for me. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had called a different Trader Joe’s than we normally go to. When I finally got to the parking lot, I entered what I thought was the entrance. The parking lot was a big circle where you can only enter one way and exit the other, but there were no signs. Only arrows on the ground so you only realize that you’re going the wrong direction once you’ve already made the mistake. I got a few looks, but I couldn’t back out because I had already gone too far into the lot and I figured people would understand. I was hoping to just slip right into a spot when I see in the corner of my eye a woman flailing her arms and yelling, “This is a one way!” I just try to ignore her to figure out the quickest way to remedy my mistake, but then she goes in front of my car to block me from moving and continues to yell, “This is a one way! You are going the wrong way.” Her face is bright red. I just mouthed to her, “I know. What do you want me to do?” My kids were in the car and I surely wasn’t going to engage this woman. So I just waited until she moved and continued on my way. My son said, “I saw her face as you drove by and she looked so angry.” I picked up the gingerbread houses, but I couldn’t shake the incident off.
